A six-year-old student is speechless over the shooting of his teacher
A six-year-old student who shot his teacher in the United States earlier this year was full-throated about the incident, saying "I shot [her] and she died", according to unsealed court documents.
When he was taken into custody after the shooting at a school in the state of Virginia, the boy was quoted as saying "I did it", and said "I took my dad's gun last night".
His teacher, Abigail Zwerner - who jumped the well before - filed a lawsuit earlier this year, seeking $40m in damages.
The child has not yet been charged in court.
However, the boy's mother, Deja Taylor, was charged with child neglect and disorderly conduct by intentionally leaving a loaded gun in danger of a child.
Also in June, she was charged with using an illegal drug while in possession of a firearm and making a false statement in the purchase of a firearm.
The mother will be sentenced in October and could face up to 25 years in prison.
The boy used his mother's gun to shoot Abigail Zwerner in the arm and chest on January 6 at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, Virginia.
