Abdulsalami submitted to Tinubu the report of their visit to Niger
The head of the delegation sent by ECOWAS to Niger to discuss with the leaders of the country's military, Abdulsalami Abubakar, said that he believes that there will be a solution from this document without the use of military force.
Retired General Abdulsalami said this after presenting to the President of the organization Bola Tinubu the report of their visit to Niger last Saturday.
He said that their visit to Niger was very beneficial and that opened the door to a dialogue that would resolve the conflict.
During the visit, the team met with the head of the military government Abdurrahman Tchiani and the president-elect Mohammed Bazoum:
"We started talking to the soldiers, and they said a lot of things. The report is what I wanted to bring to the president," said Abdussalam.
He said that they will do everything necessary to see that the diplomatic method is followed in resolving the conflict without using force.
"There is no one who wants to go to war, because it has no benefits. But, our leaders said that as long as the diplomatic method does not work, then there is a sign of using force".
Among those who attended the visit to present the report to President Tinubu, there is the head of Ecowas, Dr. Omar Touray, the head of the team sent by Ecowas to Niger, General Abdulsalami Abubakar and the advisor to the president on security affairs, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
