ECOWAS military chiefs are meeting on Niger
Military chiefs of the ECOWAS or CEDEAO countries are holding a conference in Ghana on the Niger coup.
The Chief Military Officers of the Economic Development Organization of West Africa ECOWAS or ECOWAS have opened a meeting in the city of Accra, Ghana to find ways to introduce Niger soldiers who overthrew the government of Mohammed Bazoum.
While addressing the Chief of the Nigerian Army, General Christopher Musa, he said, "their goal is not only to come up with strategies to deal with Niger's army, they want to create lasting peace in the West African countries as a whole".
Before the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany said that it is ready to support any initiative of African countries to settle the situation in Niger. And Germany requested the European Union to impose sanctions on the members of the CNSP council which overthrew the civilian government in Niger and continues to ignore all calls to return the president who toppled his seat.
