How Labor Unions Started Demonstrations In Nigerian Cities
The protest is against the plans of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's government which the groups say have put the people of the country in a crisis.
The coalition of trade unions, NLC, which includes TUC trade unions, launched a peaceful protest in several Nigerian cities on Wednesday.

According to reports, the protests have already reached Lagos, Plateau, Kano, Kaduna, Imo, Abia, Benue, Enugu and Kwara states.
Other states that are protesting include Ondo, Edo, Zamfara, Katsina, Rivers, Cross Rivers and Ogun.
Since last week, the coalition of trade unions has given a warning to participate in this protest which is asking for the price of a liter of fuel to be lowered and the fuel subsidy program to be restored.
Shortly after his swearing in, President Tinubu withdrew the fuel subsidy which caused the price of a liter of fuel to rise from 189 to 560 and then to 617.
President Tinubu, in a speech he made on Monday, asked the people of the country to be more patient, where he outlined some new plans that will improve the lives of the people of the country.
The speech is a step to ask the NLC and the TUC to withdraw the protest, and it seems that the new administration of Tinubu has not reached the end.
In the past, the government announced programs to make life easier for Nigerians which have not yet been implemented.
