Navy forces thwarted attempts to destroy food warehouses in Kano
The National Navy said it has successfully thwarted attempts to destroy food warehouses in Kano on the day labor unions held a protest against the high cost of living.
The head of the Naval Officers Training College in Dawakin Tofa, Usman M Bugaji, disclosed this during the farewell parade after spending almost two years as the commanding officer of the college.
Bugaji said that some youths were successfully prevented from entering the food store in Dawanau market during the night during the trade unions protest.
He also said that the force has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 18 women from Kano state to Libya.
Our correspondent Kamaludeen Muhammad reports that the new commandant of Commodore College, James Kolade Adedeji, said that he will continue to develop the relationship between the college and the community in order to provide better security.
