 NCL withdrew the protest after meeting with the President of Nigeria


The Nigerian Labor Union has confirmed the suspension of the protest that it had planned to continue, after the intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Senate.


The security secretary of the group, Comrade Nasir Kabir, confirmed to RFI Hausa the suspension after their meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday night, where they reached an agreement on some promises made by the president.


Demonstration

The protest that the NLC trade union organized yesterday across the country including the federal capital attracted the attention of the president to meet with the leaders of the trade union.


During the protest in Abuja last Wednesday, some angry protesters pulled the door of the parliament in order to gain access to the premises to debate with the members of parliament.

The Chairman of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, after the meeting with Tinubu said that the president made some promises to meet the demands that led to the demand for the protest.
