Nigeriens emphasize their support for the coup d'état

Thousands of people in Niger held a meeting to show their support for the coup d'état in the country while the deadline given by ECOWAS for the soldiers to return to the barracks is approaching.

More than 30 thousand people held a great meeting at the main football field of Yamai, the capital of the government of Niger, to emphasize the support for the soldiers who overthrew President Mohamed Bazoum.

The French news agency AFP reported that the military council delegation led by General Mohamed Toumba attended the forum to show the world the acceptance of the coup by the citizens. While speaking in front of the crowd that filled the stadium with the flags of the country and Russia, General Mohamed Toumba criticized the intention of those who want to interfere with the new path of development that he said the CNSP council wants to impose Niger is on it.

This Sunday's meeting, which has not been seen since the coup d'état on July 26, comes at the same time that a few hours are left to reach the end of the deadline set by the Organization for Economic Development. West Africa ECOWAS has given the army to return the deposed president to his seat or use military action to get rid of them.
