Police have arrested more than 100 people on suspicion of same-sex marriage
The Delta State Police Command has revealed that it has arrested more than 100 youths for allegedly organizing gay and polygamous weddings in a hotel.
The army revealed this in a message it published on its X page (Twitter), and said that it will soon prosecute the suspects in court.
Reports show that since the signing of the anti-homosexuality law in 2014, the security forces have arrested people believed to be homosexuals and prosecuted them.
In December 2020, the Lagos State Police arrested 10 people suspected of homosexuality in a brothel.
In 2018, the police arrested 57 men on suspicion of homosexuality in a hotel.
