Authorities say archaeologists have unearthed a 3,000-year-old tomb in northern Peru.

The explorers have nicknamed the man in the tomb the "priest of Pacopampa" because of his connection to the area where he was found.

The researchers said they dug up a lot of ash mixed with black soil before they could get to the skeleton, which contained two seals and other unique items.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Culture of Peru, it said that these seals show that the person has a special status.

It is a collaborative project involving historians from the National Museum of Ethnology in Japan and the National University of Peru.
