The Council of Teachers Ordered to Stop the Program of Traditional Religious Festivals in Kwara State

The Kwara State Council of Teachers has called on those who are planning to hold the traditional religious ceremony known as Ifa in Ilorin, to immediately withdraw their intention and stop it without delay.

The council has warned that it will not allow the celebrations to be held in any form, across the kingdoms of Ilorin, including Asa, Moro, Ilorin East, Ilorin West and Ilorin South.

The former Grand Khadi of the Islamic Court of Appeal of Kwara State, named Mohammed, made the announcement on behalf of the Chairman of the Council of Scholars and Chief Imam of the Ilorin Mosque, Sheik Bashir Salihu at a press conference held today in Ilorin.

Mohammed stated that for over 200 years there has been the existence of Islam in the city of Ilorin, therefore holding traditional religious ceremonies on the 20th day of the current month, is very dangerous to the safety of lives and property of the people across the state. .
