ABUJA, NIGERIA - The headquarters of the Nigerian Defense Force made this clear when it clarified how it lost more than twenty of its troops in Niger state.


While speaking at a press conference at the national security headquarters, the director of the information center for the clashes of the Nigerian army in different parts of the country, Major General Edward Buba said that it is sad that they have suffered setbacks recently.


On the 14th of this month of August, in two related clashes, the country's fighters were ambushed in the Shiroro region of Niger State, which led to an exchange of fire between the two sides.


Three officers were killed and 22 soldiers were injured and seven more fighters were injured.


Therefore, a plane of the Nigerian Air Force arrived in the area to pick up the dead bodies of the fighters and those who were injured to take them to Kaduna state.


As the plane took off on the road, it had an accident where apart from the dead bodies, the injured soldiers and the two crew members, including the two drivers, all lost their lives.


The security analyst, Professor Muhammad Tukur Baba, advised the Federal Government to stop all other services to deal with this security problem before it spreads to other parts of the country.
