The new prime minister of Niger said that the visit was a show of brotherhood between the Niger army that seized control from the civilian population and the country of Chad and showed Niger's right to be an independent country.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger appointed by the military Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine visited Chad last Tuesday, where he met with the head of the military government of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby.

The authorities in N'Djamena said that it was a business visit by the new prime minister, while on his part, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine said that he went to Chad to convey a message of goodwill from the head of the military government of Niger. Lamine Zeine said that they discussed with the Chadian authorities on the ways to open the way to discuss the political crisis that followed the coup and to show that Niger is a completely free country.

The visit comes as the leaders of the armed forces of the West African countries said they planned to hold a meeting in the city of Accra, Ghana on Thursday, in order to discuss the possibility of infiltrating Niger with weapons to return President Mohamed Bazoum to power.
