The Senate of Nigeria has begun to scrutinize the ministers
The Senate of Nigeria has identified 14 of the 28 ministers sent to it by President Bola Tinubu, including former Rivers State Governor Nyesome Wike. However, politicians and legal experts expressed different views on the qualifications of the ministers.
The former governor of Rivers State Nyesome Wike who is one of the children of the opposition party that Tinubu chose to give them the seat of minister has vowed to embarrass the marada if he starts working as a minister in Tinubu's government.
However, Senator Sahabi Ya'u, from Zamfara State, said that the Parliament has identified 14 Ministers instead of the 16 that the Parliament intended to identify.
Sahabi confirmed that the president chose those who he thinks are qualified to work for the country, especially in the field of national unity.
Sahabi said that the poor people in Nigeria consider Tinubu as someone who will wipe away those who are in tears to save Nigeria from the situation she is in.
He said that President Tinubu has tried to show that he is law abiding in naming ministers within two months of his administration as required by law and this is commendable.
As for the legal expert, Barista Mainasara Kogo Ibrahim Umar, he thinks there is something to look at in these Ministers that Tinubu has identified for bringing in former Governors or former Ministers or those who have held many positions in the past, pointing out that the country will not win Not so, if the same people are repeated in positions over and over again.
Mainasara said that the right thing is to give a chance to some people with new ideas and new brains to come into the administration in order to bring about change.
He added that "the majority of those who have been given the positions of these 28 ministers, they are the areas where most of the problems in the country are. This change will not be different from the system that was done in the previous government."

Senator Babangida Husseini clarified that what the law provides is that each state should be given one minister, and in the future the president will send the other names.
Babangida said, "After the state, the president is allowed to appoint ministers from abroad, that's why there are more than 36 or 37 ministers when the Federal Capital is included. In some cases, there are 40 or more."
