Tinubu has ordered the immediate release of 200 thousand tons of food to Nigerians
The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has ordered the immediate release of 200,000 tons of food from the government's food pantry to distribute to the people of the country with the aim of reducing the pain of removing the fuel subsidy that has caused the cost of living for the people.
In addition, the president also ordered the release of 250 thousand tons of fertilizer to distribute to farmers with improved seeds to cope with agriculture and provide food for the people.
Tinubu disclosed these measures today Monday when he was addressing the people of the country regarding the high cost of living that has afflicted the people.
The President also stated that his government has allocated 200 billion naira to invest 50 billion-50 billion in developing the production of maize, rice, wheat and cassava across the country.
Tinubu also said that they have allocated 100 billion naira to buy 3,000 buses to be distributed in 774 local governments to develop public transport.
The President said that he is aware of the plight of the people as a result of these drastic measures he has taken, which are necessary to bring Nigeria out of the darkness it has found itself in.
Tinubun said whether the government that preceded him understood the consequences of the subsidies being poured into the oil sector, the reason he said made it refuse to pour the subsidies last June.
The president said that there was an easy way to get Nigeria out of this situation, but the lack of that made him take these drastic measures now, but everyone will benefit from them in the near future.
