 Tinubu Launches New Power Station In Abuja

ABUJA, NIGERIA - At the same time as there are many problems related to electricity in Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu has launched the construction of an independent power station in Gwagwalada area of the federal city of Abuja.


The project by the National Oil Company of NNPCL with the cooperation of some foreign energy companies was concluded to meet the demand for more natural gas that will help to develop the electricity generation in the country.


During the inauguration of the massive power project, President Bola Tinubu expressed his happiness while addressing Nigerians at the inauguration of one of the most important infrastructure projects in the country.


It is expected that this project will produce 350 Megawatts out of 1,350, which is the first part of the whole project which is much needed.



According to President Tinubu, this decision is very important for the people of the country because it is the first step to be taken in his government's efforts to establish a very strong sector that will manage the country's economy.


According to Tinubu, energy is the most important thing that mankind has discovered in the last one thousand years, saying that there will be no quality of life without electricity, and Nigeria needs only energy.


Also, President Tinubu said that during his election campaign, he promised Nigerians to ensure that the power generation project will be given priority under his administration.


The President of the National Petroleum Corporation, NNPCL, Malam Mele Kolo Kyari, said that there is a shortage of electricity which does not meet the needs of the citizens because of some projects that should have been done a long time ago but have not been implemented. no, now there is an opportunity and this project will help to provide the companies with the opportunity to work properly and the citizens will also have jobs.


The Nigerian Petroleum Corporation (NNPCP) in collaboration with the General Electric Energy Company, and the China-owned engineering company CMEC is carrying out the construction of a 350 megawatt power plant in Abuja.
