 Tinubu plans to meet with Biden on the future of democracy in Africa


Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked his American counterpart, Joe Biden, to support African countries against the threats of those who oppose the democratic system inside and outside the continent, with the aim of providing a better life for the people.


Tinubu who is making this call while receiving the guest of the Assistant Secretary of State for Africa Molly Phee in Abuja, said that the continent definitely needs the help of the United States in strengthening democracy in their countries.


Ms Phee who is telling Tinubu about President Joe Biden's request to meet with him, during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York City.


Information indicates that during the meeting Tinubu who is the president of the ECOWAS group will touch on the issues related to the future of democracy in the member countries especially those who have experienced a military coup in the recent past.


President Tinubu's special adviser on media affairs, Ajuri Ngelale, stated that apart from Tinubu, Joe Biden will also meet with African leaders who will attend the meeting.


President Tinubu said, there is a need to create new plans for the use of development aid funds that the United States is giving to Africa in an effort to ensure the sustainability of democracy in developing countries that are facing challenges.


According to the president, this must be done diligently as the institutions planned to support Europe after the end of the Second World War, he added that this will help African countries to solve their problems.


The president of Nigeria said that private companies will take the lead since we have already created the yard.


And the American government should create industries and invest in Nigeria.
