Dubai has lifted the ban on issuing visas to Nigerians
The United Arab Emirates has lifted the visa ban on Nigerians, according to the Nigerian presidency.
A statement from the presidency of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took the decision after the meeting between President Bola Tinubu and his counterpart Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today Monday in Abu Dhabi.
"Also, this agreement means that Etihad and Emirates airlines will continue to enter and exit Nigeria immediately," Ajuri Ngelale said in a statement.
She added that the agreement does not involve the payment of any fees between the countries, referring to the millions of dollars that the Nigerian government has withheld from the airlines for ticket fees.
It has been almost a year since the UAE stopped issuing visas to travelers from Nigeria, in a crisis that originated from the time of the corona epidemic.
