 ICPC Commences Investigation of Allegations of Corruption Against House of Representatives Committee on Corruption

The Independent Anti-Corruption Commission, ICPC, disclosed this in a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Commission, Azuka Ogugua.

The ICPC said that it has started an investigation into the allegations of bribery being made to the House of Representatives Committee on job scandals and mismanagement in government ministries and agencies, but an expert in politics and international diplomacy, said that For a long time, there has been a lack of research in the Tarrayya Assembly.

The Independent Anti-Corruption Commission, ICPC, disclosed this in a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Commission, Azuka Ogugua.

Ogugua said the ICPC received a petition from the Chairman of the Interim Committee of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Adamu Gagdi. The complaint says that an online agency published a story that some members of the committee asked for a bribe from the Presidents of the Higher Schools of Science and Technology, to pay them some money in the bank account as a bribe.

But the President of the National Institute of Science and Technology, Dr. Yahaya Umar Bande said there is no truth in this story.

Bande said that he took an oath before the committee because this is the first time that the Commission has ever gone to the National Assembly, so there is no way to say that he met with some unknown members of the committee. Bande said that the Commission did not put any money in anyone's account and it will never do such a thing that amounts to corruption, because there are laws in the country that can now be used to investigate the truth of the matter. Bande said that if any officer of the group is found guilty, he should be punished quickly.

But an expert in international politics and diplomacy and a lecturer at the University of Abuja, Dr. Farouk Bibi Farouk commented on the issue.
