Korya and Shantu music will be played during the marriage of widows in Kano - Daurawa
The chairman of Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, said that there will be korya and shantu music to entertain the widows who will be celebrating in the state.
He stated this while giving more light on the programs of marrying widows and 1,800 girls that the state government is trying to do.
According to Sheikh Daurawa, there will be various celebrations to entertain the couple, since according to him, the religion of Islam does not prohibit it.
He said, "We will invite the musicians of Korya and Shantu and any form of entertainment that is accepted by Islam.
"But we will not allow anyone to enter with a phone because women should not be considered having fun," said the president of Hisbah.
He also said that they have allocated 500 thousand naira to each of the 44 local governments of the state for entertainment during the festival.
The state government has allocated more than 800 million for the widows' celebration.
So far, the government has not announced the date of the celebration, but it said that it is continuing with preparations.
