'Rice has become the most expensive in 15 years in India'

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the World (FAO) said that the price of rice in the world reached a level that has not been reached in 15 years in August.

The increase in prices happened after India, which is the largest exporter of rice in the world, banned the sale of rice to other countries.

While food prices fell in August, rice prices increased by 9.8 percent compared to July.

FAO said that this is not related to the ban on the export of rice produced by India.

Rice is the most consumed food in the world, and its price has risen since the outbreak of the Corona epidemic and the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

In July, India announced a ban on exports of non-basmati rice, which accounts for about a quarter of the country's rice exports.

The country's Ministry of Food said that the decision was taken to deal with the shortage of rice and lower its price in the country.
