 'Sudan is engaged in conflict'

The people who have been affected by the conflict between the opposing factions in the city of Khartoum, Sudan, have described the country as being in a state of chaos and uncertainty.

In one of the worst incidents since the beginning of the conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF fighters in April, about fifty people were killed on Sunday, when military planes attacked a market, witnesses said.

The United Nations has said that more than five million people have been forced to leave their homes across the country, as a result of the ongoing conflict.

A resident of a city with heavy artillery attacks near their homes, people like Ahmed must make an urgent decision: stay where they are, or seek refuge elsewhere.

Ahmed told the BBC that his family members such as his mother, wife and children are currently living in different places.

Ahmed explained how the war is throwing Sudan into darkness, and described the damage done in the city of Khartoum as unimaginable.

A doctor from the aid group MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières) told the BBC that even the most experienced doctors and nurses who cared for the victims of Sunday's attacks, were overwhelmed.
