The President of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, announced that he will invite his Russian and Chinese counterparts, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, to the next G20 meeting, which will take place in Brazil in 2024.
After the conclusion of the G20 meeting held in New Delhi, India, the country's prime minister, Narendra Modi, handed over the leadership of the G20 to da Silva.
The next meeting of the conference will take place from November 18-19, 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
"I will invite them (Xi and Putin) and hope they will come to Brazil and attend the meeting," India's Ani news agency said at a press conference.
Da Silva added that he did not know the reasons why the leaders of Russia and China did not participate in the meeting held in New Delhi.
He also expressed hope that by the time the 2024 summit opens in Brazil, the conflict in Ukraine will end and everything will return to normal.
The president explained the issues that will be discussed during the G20 meeting in Brazil, adding that it is a great responsibility for their organization that is on the country's neck.

"The world needs equality," said Da Silva, saying that he plans to discuss the issue of energy transition, reforming international institutions, and the possibility of giving Brazil permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
