The Queen of England Elizabeth has passed away for a year
She died a year ago in the village of Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96.
D. C. - After her death, her son, Charles, immediately took over the throne.
Charles said he and his wife, Camilla, will spend a day alone remembering her in the Scottish royal family.
"On this occasion of the first anniversary of Her Majesty's death and ascension to the throne, we remember her long life, her sacrifice and all that she is in the hearts of many of us," said King Charles in an online statement.
On the anniversary of her death, her royal family released a never-before-seen photo of the Queen taken by renowned photographer Cecil Beaton in 1968, an image that appeared in some of Beaton's historic photographs.
