A conference on world food production has opened in London
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak opened the World Food Summit in London.
The event is a joint project between the UK and Somalia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Representatives from more than 20 countries are participating in the event.
Sunak has announced a new network to link UK scientists with global research into climate-resilient crops.
At the start of the conference, the United Nations called on wealthy countries to immediately increase their aid and invest in ways to address what it called the root cause of hunger.
