Germany has reduced the age at which a person can obtain citizenship
The German Parliament has approved a new law that will allow immigrants to obtain citizenship documents quickly.
Now they can get citizenship in five years, but if they present special documents, they can get the documents in three years.
This is the new law unlike the previous one which was given to them after eight years.
The new law will allow people to obtain proof of citizenship of a country other than Germany, as long as they have lived in the country for more than 20 years.
In the past, people who came to Germany from countries that are not part of the European Union, had to deal with their country of origin if they wanted German documents.
