 The Katsina Government Will Inaugurate The Implementation Committee Of The Law On Prohibition Of Grain And High Rent

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina state has agreed to form a committee with 27 members to ensure the monitoring of the law on those who hide grains and those who abuse rent in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Adullahi Aliyu-Yar'adua, in Katsina on Sunday.

As long as it is not forgotten, the Katsina state government recently banned the concealment of foodstuffs and other consumer goods in the state.

According to him, the government has ordered to ensure compliance with the rules of improving food supply in the state and to identify people who are hiding food items.

Aliyu-Yar'Adua said, the committee will also arrest those involved in causing high prices and prosecute them in court.

He said, the committee will be headed by the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Jabiru Tsauri while the Commissioner for Justice, Fadila Dikko; the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr Bala Zango, and the Commissioner for Internal Security and Internal Affairs. Dr Nasiru Danmusa will be the members of the committee.

Other members of the committee include representatives of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Police, voluntary organizations, community and religious leaders, grain dealers' association and many others.

He said, the governor is expected to launch the committee on February 21.
