The transportation center built by China at the Entebbe airport in Uganda is helping to boost exports from the East African country, according to the country's air transport management center on Tuesday.

Uganda Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson Vianney Luggya told Xinhua that the new center is bigger than the old one.

“We started using the new freight center in 2021. This is the third year that it has been used. Of course, it is more convenient because it can carry 100,000 tons of goods a year," according to Luggya.

Figures released by the UCAA show that more than 40,000 tonnes of exported goods were handled at the China-Built Uganda Export Development Facility last year, compared to 39,000 of exported products processed in 2021. (Muhammed Yahaya)
