Nigerian students have been arrested on suspicion of internet fraud

Authorities in Nigeria have arrested 50 people suspected of online corruption, most of them students of Kwara State University.

The EFCC in a statement issued on Thursday said that 48 students and two other persons were arrested in their various hiding places as a result of the days of surveillance.

The EFCC said it found nine national vehicles, 24 laptops and various mobile phones in the hands of the suspects, who are said to be living in poverty.

The agency also said that its officers are out to rid the country of corruption and other crimes committed by yahoos.

The agency on its website X has published pictures of the items it seized from people suspected of committing corruption on the internet.

According to EFCC, the men will soon be arraigned in court once the investigation is completed.
