 Rwanda criticized the United States' criticism of the violence in DR Congo

Rwanda criticized the United States for its criticism of the escalation of violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, while expressing great concern over what it called the abandonment of the peace plan in the region.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda, Rwanda also said that the international community has not shown indifference to "the work of the DR Congo army", adding that the great work of the country it did in the eastern region of Kivu, which is in the eastern part of the country.

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is assisting the DRC army in dealing with armed groups including the M23 group.

Last week, two South African soldiers who were part of the SADC forces died, while three were injured after a bomb fell on their base.

At the end of the week, the United States condemned Rwanda's alleged support for the M23 Congo forces and called on the East African country to immediately withdraw all its forces from DR Congo.

Rwanda denies supporting M23.

The statement issued by the spokesperson of the United States Department of State requested Rwanda to remove its missile systems in DR Congo, which it said threatens the lives of civilians, peacekeepers and commercial aircraft.

Rwanda said that the statement of the United States distorts the truth of the situation, adding that DR Congo's action threatens its security, and it has the right to take measures to protect itself from this threat.

She said she would seek further clarification from the United States because the announcement violates the incentive plan that the U.S. intelligence agency launched last year.
