Nicolle Wallace Marries Longtime Partner Michael Schmidt in Intimate Ceremony

After over a decade together, MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace has tied the knot with her partner Michael Schmidt. The couple said "I do" in an intimate outdoor ceremony surrounded by close friends and family on June 25th at Wallace's waterfront home in Connecticut.

Wallace, 50, has anchored MSNBC's Deadline: White House since 2017 and is no stranger to the spotlight. However, she opted for a private, low-key celebration to mark her special day with Schmidt. Guests included Wallace's MSNBC colleagues such as Chuck Todd, Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.

In keeping with the intimate vibe, the ceremony was an informal, barefoot affair on the lawn overlooking Long Island Sound. Wallace wore a simple white lace dress with her hair swept up, while Schmidt complemented her in khakis and a light button-down shirt. They exchanged heartfelt vows in front of their justice of the peace.

In lieu of a sit-down dinner or dance party, the newlyweds served a casual buffet-style meal and encouraged guests to mingle. Small touches like mismatched vintage chairs added to the relaxed, homey atmosphere. String lights draped overhead provided a magical glow as the sun went down.

"It was the perfect celebration of our love and partnership," Wallace said. "We didn't want a big production. This day was about focusing on the people who mean the most to us." Her longtime producer Amy Haskins helped plan the low-key event.

Wallace and Schmidt have been a couple since around 2010 but kept their relationship largely out of the public eye. They met while Schmidt was working as Washington editor for Politico and Wallace was serving as Communications Director for John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.

Despite their busy careers, they've built a strong bond rooted in mutual respect, trust and encouragement of each other's success. "Michael has been my rock through every challenge and change," Wallace said. Friends say Schmidt brings out Wallace's fun, playful side.

In a touching toast, Wallace praised Schmidt for always supporting her goals and career pivots over the years, even when it meant spending long periods apart. He traveled extensively with her on the campaign trail for McCain as well.

Schmidt kept his remarks brief but heartfelt, simply saying, "From that first dinner together so long ago, I knew you were the one. I'm grateful and proud to stand by your side, through all of life's adventures yet to come."

Wallace's twin daughters, whom she shares with ex-husband Christopher Wallace, served as flower girls. Her daughter Blake read a poem. The couple's beloved terrier mix, Meatball, was also part of the festivities.

Following cocktails and snacks, guests enjoyed dancing and mingling under the stars well into the night. Wallace says the celebration was a perfect representation of their relationship - low-key yet full of warmth, love and support for one another.

While Nicolle Wallace is accustomed to the hustle and bustle of cable news, she was clearly delighted by the simplicity and intimacy of her wedding day with Michael Schmidt. Their low-key nuptials prove that truly meaningful moments are often the smallest. The couple now begins their life together, continuing to motivate and inspire one another both personally and professionally.
