There is still a plan to send Kenyan security forces to Haiti - Ruto

Kenyan President William Ruto has confirmed plans to send police officers to Haiti once the interim presidential council is established.

Despite the initial delay due to the resignation of the Prime Minister of Haiti, talks with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken focused on speeding up the deployment of the troops.

Ruto emphasized Kenya's intention to lead the UN mission in Haiti to restore peace and security.

However, the establishment of the parliament is facing opposition from some political parties, which may prolong the process

If the parliament is established, it will appoint an interim prime minister and cooperate with the international police force led by Kenya to deal with mob violence.
