 Naked and Afraid: Apocalypse starts with a tough survival challenge in South Africa.

Discovery's newest survival show, "Naked and Afraid: Apocalypse," aired today. It gives fans of the genre a more intense version of the concept they love. The show takes place in South Africa's rough terrain and asks competitors to survive in very harsh post-apocalyptic conditions, with no clothes, tools, or shelter.

This offshoot adds a dystopian twist to the survival genre by making players deal with both physical and mental stress from being alone and not knowing what will happen next.
