Malik Taylor's Cause of Death Revealed, as the Influencer's Family Remembers His 'Warm Smile That Brightened Every Room'
The person who made the content had more than 250,000 followers on TikTok and was known for his funny takes on pop culture.
TMZ says that the influencer died at the age of 28 when his car fell 20 feet in North Carolina on Wednesday, August 20. The Concord Police Department (CPD) is the source.
When they got to the scene of the accident, they found a Nissan Rogue SUV that had fallen, according to officials.
TMZ says that paramedics also came, but Taylor was dead when they got there. The coroner said that blunt force trauma killed Taylor, but the police think that alcohol may have been a factor.
On Saturday, August 23, PEOPLE asked the CPD and the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for a comment, but they didn't get back to them right away.
Taylor's business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, which he was a member of while at Austin Peay State University, announced his death on Facebook on August 20.
"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Malik Taylor, to 'Audit Eternal,'" read their post. "To know him was to know that he was a light to everyone. He always made people laugh and smile, and he made any room he walked into brighter."
The fraternity also said that Brother Taylor was a good example of brotherhood, unity, and compassion. We will always remember how he could lift others up, be kind, and make them happy. You were a good and faithful Brother, and even though your time with us was too short, the "Great Auditor" will reward you for all your hard work. We are thinking of and praying for his family, friends, and everyone who loved him.
Taylor's family gave a statement about his death through their son's fraternity.
"We, the family of Malik Taylor, want to thank everyone for their incredible support and kindness after his tragic death in a car accident," they said.
Malik was more than just a content creator to us; he was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend. "His creativity, humor, and spirit touched countless lives, and his legacy of inspiring, entertaining, and uplifting others will live on," the family said.
Taylor's family and friends asked for "privacy and compassion as we grieve and find strength together as a family." They also said, "We are very grateful for the outpouring of love from the community that has embraced him." Your support and encouragement mean more than words can say.
