The Mastercard AfOx Scholarship programme supports passionate, locally rooted, and globally minded young Africans in their graduate studies at the University of Oxford.
The University of Oxford Mastercard Scholarship pays for the entire course price and gives the recipient a grant of £20,780 to help with living expenses. It also offers support, networking opportunities, and personalised training programmes.
As part of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx), the University of Oxford and the Mastercard Foundation have formed a new and ambitious partnership.
In order to pursue taught master's degrees in programmes related to pandemic preparation and recovery at the University of Oxford, 400 young African scholars will have the chance to do so thanks to the partnership.
The Mastercard AfOx Scholarship programme is based on the values that both the Mastercard Foundation and AfOx share, such as teamwork, compassion, dedication, equality, and community.
A tough one-year taught Master's course at Oxford is paid for by the Scholarship. The course is meant to give the Scholars useful technical, business, and leadership skills and connect them with the best tools in their fields.
Key components of the scholarship programme include adequate funding and preparation for students to begin their studies, a strong focus on life skills outside of school, and support for a lifelong alumni network.

By the deadline for your chosen course of study, send your application to the University of Oxford through the graduate admissions portal. Make sure to include that you want to apply for AfOx funds.
For students from refugee and displaced backgrounds, special attention will be given to where they will live.
Women scholars, people from refugee and displaced backgrounds, and disabled scholars are just a few of the groups that have been openly emphasised by the scholarship. These groups have been under-represented in the past.

Master's students can apply for this full-ride scholarship, which pays for their tuition and living costs as an international student.
A return economy ticket, visa and Immigration Health Surcharge fees, a settling down allowance, and access to a Thrive Fund for emergencies are all included in the scholarship's logistics support.
The first year consists of a demanding academic Master's course at Oxford and a Leadership and Impact Program, which support the scholars in building the collaborative leadership skills necessary to construct cross-sector, interdisciplinary solutions to address challenging social and environmental issues.
Scholars will receive support for 4-6 month placements in top African organisations for their Ubuntu Period of Service after they finish their Master's program.
As part of their studies, the Scholars get a customised Leadership and Impact Program through a partnership with the Skoll Centre for Social Enterprise. They also get individualised academic and social support.
