What happened to Laura Woods’ wrights eye? ITV Euro 2024 presenter’s facial injuries and freak accident explained

LAURA Woods was seen with a horrific injury, and admirers are left wondering what happened to her.Laura wrights eye issue

The presenter was supposed to provide Euro 2024 news, but what happened to her eye?

What happened with Laura Woods' eye?
Laura Woods has been photographed with a bandage over her eye following a bizarre accident.

She issued a statement stating that she was unable to cover the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight due to an injury that had left her hospitalised.

She said that she suffered the injury while on vacation with her former Love Island partner Adam Collard.

The ITV celebrity stated that she had unintentionally crushed a glass lampshade above her head, causing it to shatter and cut her face and arm.

Laura was left with injuries around her eye and a huge cut on the back of her arm as a result of the incident.

On Instagram, she wrote: "Just wanted to explain my absence from television for a little bit, to be completely upfront and avoid any suspicion.

"I was in an accident last weekend at a vacation house. I swung a pillow and struck a large, glass lampshade hanging from the ceiling above me, which shattered and cut my face and arms but fortunately missed my eye.

"I wanted to express my gratitude to Adam for being my hero that day, acting so fast and never leaving my side since, and to his family for caring for me during a time when I was terrified.

"Thank you to my CAA representatives, Alex Maguire and Matthew Odonohue, for promptly seeking the best help.

"To Dr Yannis Alexandrides and his wonderful medical assistant Zuzanna at 111 who opened their emergency surgery and came in on their days off, they were so gentle and have already worked magic that I didn't think was possible to reduce the damage." I've included photographs from then to today to show that, while it may appear rough, there has already been a significant improvement, for which I am grateful.

"It was a huge shock, and I'm a little upset, but I'm grateful it wasn't worse. So a big thank you to my eyebrow for bearing the brunt of it.

"I'm disappointed that I won't be able to cover the fight in Riyadh tomorrow, but I wish the wonderful TNT boxing team all the best. Be back soon, xx."
