According to an Ice representative, the three people who were shot were being held at the Dallas immigration facility.
Three people were hurt at a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas on Wednesday morning.
According to CNN, law officials said that at least two of the victims were ICE inmates. The interim Ice director, Todd Lyons, told the network that three people were shot and all of them were sent to the hospital.
An Ice official informed NBC News that all three victims who were shot were detainees at the institution and that no Ice agents were harmed or shot.
Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security secretary, stated on X that the accused gunman died after a gunshot wound he gave himself. She said, "While we don't know the motive yet, we know that our Ice law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them." It has to stop.
Dallas Police claimed on X that they got a call on September 24 at "about 6:40am."
"The first inquiry found that a suspect shot at a government building from a nearby building. Two victims were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One of the victims died right away. The suspect has passed away. They wrote, "This is an ongoing investigation, and we will hold a media briefing later today."
The vice president, JD Vance, said the shooting was a "obsessive attack on law enforcement" that "must stop." But, as was said above, no Ice agents were hurt.
Vance commented on X, "I'm praying for everyone hurt in this attack and their families."
