Discover what Nick from Love Is Blind had to say after Hannah’s comments, calling her opinion of him “completely false.” Learn more about ...
Hannah told Nick they needed to have a serious talk instead of trying on wedding dresses and tuxes. They ended their engagement before they could get to the finish. Hannah told Nick straight out that he wasn't smarter, more artistic, richer, or any other way comparable to her. That day in Mexico, she wrote down five things she thought were wrong with him. She then told him that he hadn't worked on or changed any of them. She also said she used him and didn't think she knew the "real" him. Now that Nick has seen their split and all the mean things she said about him in episode 11, he thinks her opinion is "completely false."
He tells Entertainment Weekly, "I am just as smart as she is." "I'm not the type to say, 'I'm better than you at that, that, and that.'" It was clear that I didn't feel like an equal in the relationship, and I was patient, kind, honest, mature, and financially savvy throughout the show.
Nick says that he needs to know about money if he wants to work in real estate. "I look at contracts and numbers, and help my clients, and serve them at a high level," he adds. "I got two great degrees from William & Mary, which is one of the best schools in the country." There were things she said that I didn't agree with, but I knew at that point that I couldn't really save the relationship.
One thing Hannah kept saying over and over was that Nick was rude to her. He now finds that "ironic" because of how she treated him while they were officially engaged.
"I was raised the right way by my parents," he adds. "Everyone told me to be kind to people, especially women." I was just having fun with the duck thing; I didn't mean any harm, but she thought it was rude. The talk I had with Katie at the Halloween party was very grown up and polite, but she thought it was rude. I believe she may have had some problems or fears, which is normal; she had to talk about them with herself and her friends, but she was projecting them onto me.
Nick goes on, "I was a real, good guy the whole time." I show a lot of respect. I pay attention. Being socially aware and reading rooms are two of my best qualities. Because I'm smart... Not 'delulu.' There were times when some people did look a little "delulu," but not me."
In addition to calling Hannah "disrespectful," he also says that she talked to Ashley Adionser, a cast member from season 7, about their sex life in great detail, even though he asked her to keep that information private. "I would never say that on camera, and I guess that just goes to show that we're different in a lot of ways," he adds. "Friends should be there for you to talk about those things, but I would never really be that honest and open about some things in a relationship, especially sexual things." I would not be caught on camera yelling at her in front of Garrett or Ty about something like that.
Nick also says, "I don't think a lot of it was necessarily true." That's her side of the story; I think I'm a great partner.
Nick wasn't surprised when Hannah broke off their engagement before the bridal shows. "It was a little unfortunate we didn't get to go through that, but we were mature enough to call it quits when we did and not draw it out anymore," he adds. "The show makes it clear that Hannah is a strong, independent woman who likes to say what she thinks. It's hard to change her mind." I already knew when she called that the talk wasn't going to go well and that we were probably going to end it. At that point, I was sure that she wouldn't change her mind if she had already made up her mind.
Nick says that he would have liked to see the project through to the end in the show that comes after they broke up. But would he have said "I do" at the altar?
"I was taking it day by day, moment by moment," he points out. "I don't want to speak for Hannah, but I think she was a bit further along in the process." I made a full promise. Because I didn't want to be so closed-minded, I didn't want to end it too soon. There was a clear link between us, and some big events were coming up. I asked if we could just work on the things we needed to work on. Both of us cared a lot about the relationship, and I wanted to get to where she was and enjoy every moment with her. It was too bad it didn't work out, but now that I think about it, maybe it was for the best.
Not only that, but he doesn't think it was an accident that they broke up the day after his bad meeting with her friends.

'I'm very independent,' Hannah told me. It doesn't matter to me what my family and friends think. "I am going to do what I want to do," Nick says. "But then she broke up with me in the pods because her friends told her to, and she did." Next, she changed her mind again because of what her friends thought, which made me a little confused. She did some things that were a little different from what she stated. "
What was "pretty consistent throughout," though, was how Hannah talked to Nick. That's why it didn't surprise him what she said about him in every episode.
"I just wish she could have given me a little bit more grace in certain situations, be a little bit more understanding," he points out. I try to wait as long as I can. In that case, it's tough to fully understand her point of view. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get it to work.
Nick has "no regrets at all" about being on Love Is Blind, even though the season ended badly for him. "The point is to find love, but you do a lot of soul-searching and you really grow as a person as well," he adds. "I learnt some things I never would have known otherwise." I wouldn't change a thing because I believe that everything happened the way it was meant to.
Love Is Blind's seventh season ends on Netflix on October 23.
