A vintage Bob Mackie "black jersey one-shouldered strip dress, with large crystal and diamond gemstones," was worn by Carpenter, who is 26 years old. Mackie, who is 86 years old, revealed that the dress was first made for Ann-Margret in the 1970s and showed off the original sketch for the beautiful design.
The singer of "Tears" finished off the look with her signature blonde bombshell blowout and glittery shoes. "Last night I made my @opry debut in Nashville, and what a magical night it was," Carpenter wrote in the caption of an Oct. 8 Instagram post.
Carpenter opened for Sheryl Crow, and the "Espresso" singer said that she is "the biggest fan ever" of Crow, who is 63 years old.
"Thank you to the showstopping band that accompanied me last night," he wrote. "Thank you to my wonderful fans who came out and to the people who come to the Opry every week and opened their hearts and ears to me:'" "I'm so lucky!"
There was a picture of Carpenter performing onstage with the Bob Mackie ensemble, a picture of her behind-the-scenes with Crow, and an old picture of Dolly Parton singing at the Opry early in her career.
The first Grand Ole Opry radio show aired in 1925. Since then, it has helped many country stars become famous. Parton, 79, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and many other country stars have appeared on the show. So have modern country singers like Kacey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini. The Grand Ole Opry House, where the show is now held, opened in 1974.
Parton and Carpenter have worked together before on a remix of the Short and Sweet song "Please Please Please." Along with their February duo, the two were in a music video.
