Travis Kelce once thought Hugh Grant's wife was Greta Gerwig, according to Taylor Swift.
During an interview on Wednesday, Oct. 8, on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the 14-time Grammy winner talked about the funny mistake her fiancé made at the Eras Tour when he thought the Heretic actor's wife was actually the Barbie director.
Grant, who is 65 years old, went to the second Eras Tour show in London in June 2024 and met Kelce, who is 35 years old, in the VIP tent.
Swift, who is 35 years old, says the Kansas City Chiefs player met Grant's wife, Anna Eberstein, and thought she was the director of Lady Bird. He then told Eberstein how happy he was about his favourite Gerwig movie, Barbie.
Even made a joke about "I'm just Ken" while looking at Swift. He didn't realise until after the show that he was talking to Grant's very confused wife.
Kelce told Swift that he had a great time at the tent party and met a lot of famous people, including Grant. But he didn't say anything about Gerwig, which confused Swift, she told Seth Meyers. It made her think that Gerwig might have heard the "I'm just Ken" joke too many times when she heard that Gerwig didn't answer.
I think Gerwig and Grant might be making a movie together because they were dancing so close to each other all night and "had all these inside jokes," Kelce told Swift. Swift remembered Kelce telling her, "It looks like they're so meant to be together."
Swift told him, "The tea is crazy tonight, Travis."
At the same time, Kelce told Swift that dancing with a family was a lot of fun. Swift then watched several videos of Kelce dancing with Gerwig. She told Kelce that it looked like she liked the joke. Kelce told her, "Oh, that's not Greta."
After that, Swift knew what had happened. Kelce thought Eberstein was Gerwig.
Meyers said, "The good thing is he knew what real love was." "He saw soulmates, and he knew you were soulmates." Grant thanked Swift, 34, for her "Opalite" song on X after seeing her second Eras tour show in London in June 2024.
Thank you, @taylorswift13. At the time, he told them, "You have an amazing show, an amazing and very friendly team." He then praised Kelce, calling him a "excellent if gigantic boyfriend."
Giving a hint that he had drunk something during the show by adding the hashtag "#TequilaShots"
The Love Actually star then wrote, "Thanks so much from one [old] London boy, wife, and thrilled 8-year-old #halfgirlhalfbracelet." What happened the next day, Swift wrote back and called Grant her official "stan" before saying thank you.
She responded on X, "As a Hugh Grant fan for a long time, this tweet is very important to my culture."
