The Kano State Government Will Procure Sahih Bukhari And Muslim Books For Mallam Abduljabbar Kabara
During today's hearing at the No. 1 Sharia High Court in South Gate, the Plaintiffs' lawyer Mamman Lawan Yusufari SAN asked the court to grant my teacher's request to be allowed to cross-examine witnesses. The court agreed that, after a long absence from questioning, he picked up a book and continued questioning, prompting the plaintiffs' lawyers to criticize. He said it was important to know which book he was bringing to, adding that the teacher immediately said that the two books were a combination of text and commentary.
The prosecutor then asked the court to allow the importation of Bukhari and Muslim books, and the text was not commentary. However, the teacher said he needed to be given the books to check before returning to court, but the judge refused, saying only that the teacher had to buy his own. It was here that Mallam Abduljabbar said he had no money because since he was detained he did not sell anything.
In that case, the government lawyers said the government would buy the books for him, and the teacher immediately thanked him.Our correspondent Aminu Abdu Baka Noma reports that the court adjourned the case to November 25.
