The United States Government Requests Its Officials To Leave Abuja Nigeria
The US government has asked its diplomats working in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, to leave the city to avoid terrorist attacks which it says are likely to happen.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States of America presented this statement which requested the departure of diplomats whose duties are not mandatory to leave with their families because of the threat they say the city is facing.
This announcement did not reveal the plan to evacuate the diplomats but warned Americans to avoid non-essential travel to Nigeria itself.
The United States issued this statement because of its concern about crime and instability.
This warning comes two days after the one she presented at the weekend which said there is a possibility of a terrorist attack in the city of Abuja.
Some Western countries such as the UK, Canada, and Australia have already issued similar warnings.
The American government has not fully explained the threats facing the city of Abuja, which is home to more than 6 million people.
However, security experts link this warning to the increasing number of terrorist attacks in Nigeria, especially when they broke into the Kuje prison and took out some of their colleagues in the past months.
However, DSS asked the people of the country to calm down, saying that it is working with other security agencies to protect the health of the people of the city and the country as a whole.
