 There will be fog and dust in the northern states in the coming days, said NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has announced the end of the rainy season in the Northern part of the country, saying that some parts of the region will experience dust and fog in the coming days.

 NiMet in its forecast said that the dust will rise from the Republic of Niger and will cover the Northern parts of Nigeria.

According to NiMet, the storm with a force of 800 meters will take the dust to the North of the country and the North Central.

 The analysis also shows that it is expected that there will be more dust and fog in the area.

 "In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of more fog and dust (at an average distance of 2000 meters - 5000 meters) in the states of Borno, Yobe, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Gombe, Bauchi and Jigawa, while the rest  Northern states (including North Central) may experience temperatures of 5-7 degrees.

 "This situation is expected to continue for the next three days."

 NiMet also said that the temperature will gradually increase.

 The agency advises motorists to drive calmly in this situation.

 "Also, people with breathing problems should be careful, especially when they are outside," said NiMet.
