Al Jazeera Television Sues Israel For Killing Young Woman
Al Jazeera has taken the Israeli army to the ICC for the murder of one of its employees, Shireen Abu Akleh.
Al Jazeera's lawyer said that this is an important day because they have presented full evidence on behalf of the broadcaster and what Al Jazeera is looking for is that the case be heard without delay.
The young woman was shot while on duty during an Israeli military operation in the West Bank and Jordan River in May.
The Israeli army has confirmed that there is a possibility that its soldiers killed Shireen Abu Akleh but according to them it was by mistake.
However, the Prime Minister of Israel, Yair Lapid, has rejected the issue of conducting an investigation from outside.
Al Jazeera said that the evidence it will present to the ICC will include the video showing the time when Israeli soldiers shot the journalist.
