 Nigerians have complained that the new bills are hard to see after 17 days of being officially used.

 In Kano State, a businessman in Singa named Audun Ghali, said that he went to the ATM about 10 times but did not see even a penny of new money.

 "The only place where you can get new money is the bank, unless you have to withdraw a lot of money, or you know the staff", he said.

 However, a person named Alhaji Nuhu Danliti said that he got new bills, but he only got two percent of the total amount of money he withdrew from the bank.

 "It's not just me, my friend also withdraws N1m, he gets N300,000 new ones.

 "This is the only time I have ever seen new money, and unfortunately they are not of good quality, that is why our clients do not accept them

 This is also the case from the Federal City of Abuja, because during Aminiya's visit to GT Bank and Zenith Bank in Jabi area, no one is offering the new currency.

 The officer guarding the GT Bank informed our reporter that they have never put new bills in the ATM machines.

 A man named Philip Abu told our correspondent that despite the deadline given by the government to collect the old money, people go to the bank and make noise and they are given new ones.

 "The only thing they can do for you is to give you N1,000 a piece, because they say N500 and N200 are enough", said Philip.

 However, Aminiya did not succeed in trying to hear from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), because its spokesperson, Osita Nwanisobi, did not respond, perhaps because of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

 The Federal Government has said that from January 31, the old currency notes of N200, N500 and N1,000 will no longer work.
