Buhari Meets Tinubu At Aso Rock
President Muhammadu Buhari held a private meeting with the Presidential candidate of the APC party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at the Federal Government House.
A reliable source said that the meeting was held in secret before the meeting of the Executive Council chaired by Buhari on Wednesday.
The source of Focus News Hausa, Aminiya found out that the meeting will not be related to the issue of the election campaign and other problems that the country is facing including the issue of lack of financial documents.
Aminiya reported that the President attended the parliament session late for the first time around 10:40 am on Wednesday.
The meeting which started 40 minutes after the scheduled time, was attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and the Chief of Staff of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan.
A source said that President Buhari arrived at the meeting late because he was monitoring the hearing of the case by the Supreme Court regarding the challenge to the decision of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to implement the deadline for the use of old currency notes.
Currently, the Supreme Court has adjourned the case until Wednesday, February 22.
10 state governments are challenging the policy of exchanging old currency notes in the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court said that the order it gave to stop the implementation of the deadline of February 10 on the old money is still valid.
Others who attended the Executive Council session included the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Minister of Communications and Modern Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, the Minister of Budget and Planning. by Kasa, Zainab Ahmed.
