Speaking to reporters in Kano on Friday, Bashir also said that he took the step to support the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and opened his campaign office.

However, according to Bashir, "We have also agreed to use our campaign committee to solicit votes for Tinubu so that he wins the 2023 election and becomes the President of Nigeria in 2023."
