Lawyers said that the Central Bank of Nigeria didn't follow the Supreme Court's order and didn't care about the country's constitution.
The legal experts talk about the CBN's refusal to follow the Supreme Court's order from last week that said it couldn't enforce the February 10 deadline for the cash swap.
Mr. Harris Gbole, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and Kehinde Eleje, a lawyer, talked about this on Wednesday during an interview with Channels Television.
Gbole, for his part, said that CBN's actions show disrespect for the Court and go against the rule of law.
He said that it is everyone's job to follow court orders.
"It is everyone's job to follow the court's order. "If you don't like an order from the Court, the best thing to do is to appeal the order or go to the Court and ask to join as a party. Sitting back and saying you won't follow the order is disrespectful to the Court and goes against the rule of law," he said.
