PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS: National Telecommunications Commission Denies Claims It Will Lock Down Money Transfers During Elections

The National Communications Commission (NCC) has stated that it is not true that the news that it will block mobile phone and POS payment methods during the election period is not true.

There have been rumors that the roads will be closed from February 23.

The Director of Public Relations of NCC Reuben Muoka issued this announcement, where he told the public to continue their activities, that the news is a lie, it is just a scam.

"We give people who have financial transactions by phone, POS, or banks the to continue their business.  They should ignore any relief that does not come from the NCC.”

"NCC has received assurances from telecommunication companies that all their networks will continue to operate without any restrictions, and there will not be any disruptions."

When the rumor spread, the people panicked and focused on finding money to buy to last them until after the election.

However, seeing that until Friday evening, the day before the election, the transfer of funds did not stop, now people's minds calmed down.
