A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was taken into custody after a stabbing left a man with life-changing injuries.

Greater Manchester Police said that they were called to Kenyon Way in Worsley after 5:30 p.m. on Thursday to help with a fight between a group of young men in which one man was stabbed.

The police said that a man was taken to the hospital with injuries that could change his life.

A 17-year-old boy has been taken into police custody and is being questioned about a possible section 18 assault.

Initial investigations suggest that this is an isolated incident that doesn't pose a threat to the public as a whole. However, a scene will stay in place overnight while officers continue to look into what happened.

Police are especially interested in talking to anyone who was in the area before, during, or after the event.

The GMP Salford division's Detective Inspector Sarah Ball said: "We know that this incident may worry people in the area, but I want to reassure them that officers are working around the clock to find out what happened.

"Extra police officers have been sent to the area to make people feel safer. Please talk to them if you have any questions or worries. They are there to help you.

"I would like to ask anyone who saw something to please come forward and tell us what they saw. Even if the piece of information seems small, it could be very important to the investigation.

"You can give GMP information by calling 0161 856 5410 and saying "log 2730 of 23/3/23" or by using the Live Chat feature on the
