 I have finished my term of office and returned to my farm, said President Buhari

 President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he is ready to step down from the government of Nigeria, as he has shown in the past that he has moved to see May 29 to hand over power to his successor.

 The president made this known while speaking at a farewell meeting with the outgoing US ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard, at the presidential palace in Abuja on Tuesday.

 Buhari said this while responding to the ambassador's question, as reported by the Daily Trust newspaper.

 The outgoing president added that he wants to return and focus on taking care of his farm and his more than 300 animals in Daura when he steps down from power.

 Buhari, who expressed his satisfaction with the interest Nigerians have shown in democracy through their electorate in the presidential and federal legislative elections and the governorship and state legislative elections that have concluded,  Indeed, the country's democracy has flourished.

 He said that people understand the power and authority that they have, that if they are given the opportunity to vote freely and fairly, no one will tell them what to do.

 "I am happy with the way some candidates fell in the election," said Buhari.

 He said that as a result of the change of money made by his government, there was no money to be given to the voters, and despite that, he said that people should accept the money but choose the person who is comfortable with them, he said.
